Buying a home is a fun and sometimes intimidating process. Knowing what to expect ahead of time is a huge help to not getting so overwhelmed.
1st Save money!
Buying a house costs money while that may seem obvious it's important to know upfront.
You will need a down payment usually a certain percentage of the home purchase price you will need to work with a lender to see what you will need to have for your downpayment.
You will also be asked to place earnest money down as good faith to the sellers this money goes towards your down payment in the end, but you will need it as soon as you make the offer!
Also as a buyer you will be responsible to pay for an inspection on the home you put your offer on.
2nd Get pre approved!
Before you skip off looking at all your favorite houses, you want to get pre approved. Shopping before your pre approved can set your expectations too high or too low. Sometimes you're approved for more than you thought and sometimes less. Nothing is
worse than checking out the 500K homes then getting pre approved for only 200K. Equally frustrating, is finding your dream home and then not being able to qualify. Trust me! You want to know what you're pre approved for and get an idea of a monthly payment
and go shopping within your budget to find that dream home!
